Last week, Ms Grace Baysa passed by the office to follow up on the confirmation orders of the stock investments they made several months back right after the CMIP ITAP 2nd run. She was with students from the Ateneo de Davao who competed in the finals in a competition.
Today, Ms Rowena Cinco and the faculty of the University of Mindanao - Davao visited the PSE and then took time to come over the office. We had a short discussion on how to be able to invest in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
They even informed me that there were two students from their school who wanted to join the CMIP and got their application forms.
It's really great to see CMIP participants keeping up their interest in the local equities market. Kudos also to the CMIP participants who are now practicing what they learned in investing.

The First Philippine Business Education Summit
Yesterday afternoon (September 17, 2007), there was a meeting of the "Business-Education-Industyr Linkage" which is organizing the "First Philippine Business Education Industry Summit" slated on Dec. 06, 2007 at the AIM Conference Center.
The Theme of the said summit is "Developing the Global Filipino".
The summit "aims to bring together to a bigger universe of representatives from business, industry, government and the academe to set priorities for convergence." It will address future global trends in human resource development (and hopefully in other aspects too...) , strategic directions and initiatives towards developing the global Filipino.
About 200-300 participants are expected to grace the event.
The CMIP aims to be a part of this as the first step the Business-Education-Industry linkage took was to collectively formulate new policies, standards and guidelines for Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. (These are now embodied in CHED Memorandum Order #39 Series of 2006 which was approved by the CHED Commission en Banc last June 2006 and launched last May 2007.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Conrado Inigo, the Charter President of the Philippine Council of Deans & Educators in Business. Dr. Inigo is also the VP-External of CMIP.
